Dear Valued MHO Customer:
MHO Networks is pleased to announce the immediate launch of its enhanced Email
services, which, among many new features, now offers an interactive SPAM prevention
tool called EMAIL-FILTER.
To begin utilizing the enhanced Email services, there will be no required changes on
the customer’s side, but you will need to follow several simple steps in order to
enable the EMAIL-FILTER capability.
First, simply go to the web-based interface: http://webmail.mho.net and log-in (using
your usual Email address and password, then clicking on “Login”).
Second, once you are logged in to the control interface, go to “Options,” which is
at the top tool-bar of the page (this is where you will be able set various control
options and features for your Email account and for your web-mail interface) then
click on “E-Mail Address Filtering.”
Once you are in the “Filter Lists” section, you will have several options: ENABLE
EMAIL-FILTER, ENABLE WHITELIST ONLY and DISABLE ALL.
By enabling the new EMAIL-FILTER, you will be placing a protective barrier on your
Email account (an anti-SPAM mechanism) that will be capable of doing several things:
a) It will allow only the specific Email addresses you add to your WHITELIST to send
you Email (you can also, by adding a “*” in front of a domain and creating a
‘catchall’, allow any general domains (e.g., *@somedomain.com) to send an Email
to your account without any problems…this might be a good thing to do in order to
receive Emails from your co-workers).
b) Any specific Email addresses you add to your BLACKLIST (including any general
domains like: *@somedomain.com) will be prevented from ever sending an Email to
your account (they just bounce away…this might be a good thing to do when you
discover domain names from gambling or from ‘adult’ sites).
c) When anyone tries to send you an Email that is not in your WHITELIST or your
BLACKLIST, the EMAIL-FILTER program will intelligently and automatically ask the
sender to reply to a simple Email it sends back to them (upon immediate receipt of
their Email; this is to verify that the sender is indeed a human being and not some
unsolicited mass-Email server).
When the person replies to the simple Email, they
will then be added to your WHITELIST and will be able to send you Emails, without
hindrance, from then on (until you remove them from your WHITELIST or add them to
your BLACKLIST).
The whole Email approval process for the new sender is rather
instant and very simple for them to understand – and the best part of it is that you
will never even see any of the back-and-forth correspondence that gets them
approved, for it is all done automatically through MHO Networks enhanced system.
If, however, you do not want to utilize the EMAIL-FILTER feature, you will have the
option of enabling just the WHITELIST ONLY, which will only allow Email addresses of
which you approve to send Emails to you by adding them to your WHITELIST (this is a
very strict filter that should only be enabled when one only wants to receive Email
from a certain list of people and no one else). Or you can DISABLE ALL and you will
receive Email from anyone (or anything) that sends to your address (this is also
good to enable when you are awaiting a bid response from EBAY or PriceLine.com and
you need to receive all Emails…you can always turn your EMAIL-FILTER back on after
you receive what you are waiting for).
We all here at MHO Networks hope that the enhanced Email services help every one of
our clients enjoy the Internet experience all the more by giving more control over
something that can, at times, seem totally out of control. We look forward to
everyone’s feedback on the new Email system. Please feel free to send your
questions, comments and concerns to us at support@mho.net or by giving us a call
directly at 303.584.9711. Thanks again!
Sincerely yours,
MHO Networks
